Raising Children with Financial Literacy

Raising Children with Financial Literacy provides attendees with age-appropriate financial concepts and ideas for youth ranging from birth to high school graduation. Learn fun ways to implement hands on experiences, begin having financial conversations, and help bring financial literacy to children of all ages.

Attendees can expect to learn:

• Specific financial literacy concepts for particular age groups.
• Ways to implement and utilize the information learned.
• The benefits to having a youth account with MSU Federal Credit Union.

This event is hosted by 20Fathoms in partnership with MSUFCU.

Event format:

This is an in-person event and there is no charge to attend.

Lunch will be provided with support from Chick-fil-A.

Who should attend:

This presentation is for anyone who has children in their life, whether that be their own kids, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, or any child they may be close to. The information may also be helpful for those in the education field with the personal finance courses being added to the state curriculum.

About the presenter:

Tonya Williams has a foundation built in her time in law enforcement and personal coaching that nurtured her passion for taking on uncomfortable conversations, which included finances for numerous individuals. After briefly working in the MSUFCU Call Center, Tonya transitioned to the Financial Education Department to utilize skills she has refined over decades to help teach financial awareness. Tonya brings with her an associate degree in criminal justice, an Academy of Creative Coaching Life and Executive Coach Certification, Six Sigma Lean Management White Belt certification, and, most importantly, personal entrepreneurial experience as a successful real estate investor and life and leadership coach.
