Apr. 16 | Individuals in Northwest Michigan can get certified in networking and/or cybersecurity through free courses thanks to a partnership between 20Fathoms and the Center on Rural Innovation. The certification courses are available through Cisco Academy and are self-paced and 100% online.
Sep. 17 | 20Fathoms is pleased to announce a new funding opportunity for startups and small businesses in Northwest Michigan. In partnership with Venture North, 20Fathoms is providing a total of $45,000 in small business grants this fall.
Apr. 26 | 20Fathoms is pleased to announce that Intero Biosystems won both the grand prize and the audience choice award at the TCNewTech University Showdown on Apr. 23 at the City Opera House in Traverse City. As Grand Prize winner, Intero Biosystems received $5000 and a MiSpringBoard certificate for free legal services valued at $2500, plus they received the $500 audience choice prize.
Jan. 10 | As Chief Financial Officer, Shiloh provides management and strategic direction for the organization’s financial and governance responsibilities. In this dual role, she will also serve as 20Fathoms’ Tribal Liaison, where she will lead the organization’s partnership with local Native American communities to deliver startup programming and other support.
Nov. 11 | Craig Wesley has joined the organization as Executive Director, bringing over 25 years of business and executive experience to the Traverse City-based startup incubator and coworking space. Craig brings experience ranging from ground-floor startups to the public company C-suite.
Jul. 17 | Over the past several years, 20Fathoms in Traverse City has grown from a small startup incubator and coworking space to become the regional hub for entrepreneurship and innovation in Northwest Michigan. At the helm as Executive Director during this growth phase was Eric Roberts, who has recently announced that he will be retiring in September.
Apr. 26 | The seven individuals were recognized during the organization’s Launch Awards & Celebration on April 24 during Northern Michigan Startup Week. The Community Champion Awards were distributed to individuals for their contributions to the region’s growing innovation and entrepreneurship community in the Grand Traverse Region.
