The $2000 Second Place Award went to Adrenaline Interactive, an in-game advertising technology that helps businesses reach, impress, and convert mobile gamers into customers. The pitch for Adrenaline Interactive was presented by Max Albert and Charles Dimirjian.

“It was inspiring to see how many people turned out to support local entrepreneurs on a beautiful summer day,” said Eric Roberts, Executive Director of 20Fathoms. “The support that we saw from the community, especially for our local entrepreneur whose family was in the audience, is what we’re about here in Traverse City.”

The $500 Audience Choice Award went to Oddment Audio, a Traverse-City based company that develops electronic musical instruments for sonic exploration. They introduced Groc, a granular synthesizer that includes all the joy of a tape machine, modular synth, and effect pedal board in a stunning desktop package. Groc is slated to hit the market in 2025.

BPM Sync., Inc., aka gBeat also pitched. gBeat seamlessly integrates real-time biometric data from users’ smartwatches with YouTube workout videos, providing a hyper-personalized fitness experience.

Madison Meter of TiltThink Improv moderated the event. Pitch presentations were judged by a panel of local startup experts including Melanie de Vries, Tech Team Consultant at Michigan Small Business Development Center, Dan Farley, CEO & Founder at Thompson Retractor, Alex Prasad, CEO at V1Sports and Attorney at AEGIS Law, and Russell Schindler, CEO, Professional Geologist, Founder at SampleServe.

Awards and event support were made possible through the generosity of community partners including Thompson Retractor, Axios HR, True North Legal Group, and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

The next TCNewTech competition will take place on September 10. Applications are currently open to pitch.
