New program for Indigenous small businesses provides professional service support
20Fathoms is pleased to announce a new funding resource for Indigenous entrepreneurs in Northwest Michigan. The Indigenous Professional Service Provider Support program will provide small businesses up to $4000 in professional services support such as legal, human resources, technology, marketing, product development, accounting, or project management.

How to apply for the grants:
Eligibility:
- The business must be registered or located in one of the following counties: Grand Traverse, Leelanau, Manistee, Wexford, Missaukee, Benzie, Kalkaska, Antrim, Charlevoix, or Emmet.
- The business owner must be 18 years of age or older.
- The business must be owned by an Indigenous citizen or member of any federal tribe within the United States or a State of Michigan recognized tribe.
- Awardees agree to participate in a 30-minute coaching session with the 20Fathoms Startup Support Team.

This program is highly competitive and support will be awarded to 4 – 8 small businesses. Award money is taxable.
This resource has been made possible through a partnership between 20Fathoms, Michigan SBDC, Northern Lakes Economic Alliance, Traverse Connect, and Venture North. Additional services designed to help small businesses succeed include grants, business consultations, and educational programming.
