20Fathoms is pleased to announce that Craig Wesley has joined the organization as Executive Director, bringing over 25 years of business and executive experience to the Traverse City-based startup incubator and coworking space.
Craig brings experience ranging from ground-floor startups to the public company C-suite. Most recently Craig supported executives in consulting roles, providing hands-on operational expertise at pivotal growth points, including serving as a Strategic Advisor for local trulyfreehome.com and the Executive Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for trulyfreemarket.com. He is originally from Michigan and graduated from Michigan State University with a BA from the College of Communication Arts & Sciences. After his career in Silicon Valley Craig and his family relocated to Michigan, making the Traverse City area their home. He is passionate about community and previously served on the board of Traverse City’s City Opera House.
“I am excited to continue to build an ecosystem and culture that will enable entrepreneurs to scale their startups right here in Northern Michigan. I consider it a privilege to serve the community and continue 20Fathoms’ momentum as a key community asset,” says Craig.
“We’re pleased to have Craig at the helm of 20Fathoms,” says Lowell Gruman, 20Fathoms’ Board Chair. “We conducted a nationwide search to find the right person, and we found him right in our own backyard.”
Craig replaces Eric Roberts as Executive Director. During his tenure, Eric led 20Fathoms through an important period of growth that saw TCNewTech come under the 20Fathoms umbrella and the awarding of major state and federal grants, allowing 20Fathoms to expand its programming and service area, which now covers the 10-county region.
