20Fathoms offers business essentials course for indigenous entrepreneurs, Sept. 27-29

By 20Fathoms

In this 3-day bootcamp, students will learn essential business and marketing skills to form and grow business ideas.

20Fathoms is pleased to announce a new offering designed specifically with indigenous entrepreneurs in mind: a 3-day Business & Marketing Essentials bootcamp. This program is designed and hosted in partnership with New Mexico Community Capital.

Indigenous entrepreneurs often face discrepancies in access to capital, technology, and business mentorship and training. The free Indigenous Business & Marketing Essentials program is unique in that it endeavors to address some of these resource gaps with programming that is inclusive of culture and traditions. Shiloh Slomsky, 20Fathoms Tribal Liaison & CFO shares, “Throughout the course, we will smudge, feast, face our business fears, overcome, learn from each other, and build each other up to be successful… each in our own way.”

The Business & Marketing Essentials program supports indigenous entrepreneurs in building a solid foundation to form and grow business ideas. Participants will gain practical skills through hands-on learning, develop their business concept, and refine their financial plan.

All participants will receive a grant that can be used for technology and other basic needs that will help them complete the course. In addition, after graduating from the program, entrepreneurs will be eligible for additional grant funding to put toward their business.

The Indigenous Business & Marketing Essentials program is led by indigenous experts, including Henry Jake Forman (Program Director, New Mexico Community Capital), Elizabeth Gamboa (Executive Director, New Mexico Community Capital), and Shiloh Slomsky (Tribal Liaison & CFO, 20Fathoms).
